A very warm congratulations to long-time OCCAP Executive Committee Member Dr. Kirk Wolfe, who won the OMA's 2018 Doctor-Citizen Award.
Each year since 1957, the Oregon Medical Association (OMA) has honored an Oregon physician as the Doctor-Citizen of the Year. This award recognizes those doctors who generously commit their time and energy to community activities and work to further the art and science of medicine, and who have made outstanding contributions to healthcare policy.
Dr. Wolfe works tirelessly to fight suicide in Oregon's teens & youth, devoting hours to creating brochures used in schools, hospitals, clinics, community centers and many other areas informing caregivers of the risks & signs of suicide in adolescents. If there is a group fighting for our state's youth, especially in regards to mental health, Kirk is very likely an active member.
Here at OCCAP, we've known about Dr. Wolfe's passion for mental health for many years, and we are excited that the OMA is recognizing such a deserving individual!
